BASECAMP SHIP IN THE ICE

Follow in the footprints of the polar explorers Dr. F. Nansen and Mr. Amundsen, and join us on an overnight trip to amazing BASECAMP SHIP IN THE ICE – the only frozen in hotel concept of the World!

When visiting Svalbard you will head about 60 km north-east of Longyearbyen with the stunning Tempel mountain as a backdrop you find Base camp Ship in the ice. Accommodation onboard the world’s only frozen in hotel ship gives the modern traveler a unique opportunity to explore the magnificent Arctic nature up close. You can experience stillness and a light that is difficult to find in other places. If you are lucky, you may even glimpse the “king of the Arctic”, the polar bear that lives in Svalbard!

Day 1

After arrival Longyearbyen Airport Svalbard, our private guide will meet you, and transport you to your accommodation. After check in, you can have a lunch and then enjoy the afternoon on your own by exploring the city.

Day 2

After a substantial breakfast, the guide will meet you at your accommodation. You will then get information about clothing, snow mobile driving and the next day’s program. Then we head towards Tempelfjorden and Base camp Ship in the ice. Lunch will be served in field. At arrival you will be met by the hostess of the ship and accommodated in double cabins and served a 3-course dinner.

Day 3

After a substantial breakfast, it is once again time to head into the beautiful landscape of Svalbard. The guide chooses the day’s route depending on the weather and snow conditions. Lunch is served in field. Arrival in Longyearbyen during the afternoon.

Day 4

Your last full day in your 5 days expedition Spitzbergen winter adventure starts after breakfast where your guide will meet you for an exciting day with dog sledding to the ice cave at Scott Turner glacier, lunch is served in the cave

Day 5

Before heading to the airport  you will experience and learn a little more by going to the museum before transport to the airport and departure Svalbard.

Note! Drivers’ license for car/ MC is required to drive a snowmobile. Must be carried throughout the trip.
