Norway luxury fjords in 7 days

Day 1

Arrival to Oslo. Your personal guide meets you at the airport and drives you to Oslo. Check-in to Hotel Continental, located in the heart of the city.

Day 2

After breakfast your guide meets you in the lobby and takes you on a 3-hour tour of the Norwegian capital, including visit to the world-famous Viking Ships, the polar exploration ship Fram, and the amazing Vigeland Sculpture Park. Lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch, you will have a chance to visit the Holmenkollen ski jump for panoramic views of the city and fjord. Dinner in one of the restaurants in Akker Brygge.

Day 3

After breakfast your guide takes you on a 3-hour tour of Bergen, including a visit to the popular Fish and Flower Market, the famous Bryggen Harbor with its gabled pack houses, and the old Hanseatic Quarter. You will also ride on the funicular to Mt. Floien, for panoramic views of the city and fjords far below. Lunch at the Bryggeloftet Restaurant. Afternoon departure to the town of Voss. Stop to view the enchanting Tvindefoss Waterfall, believed by some to be the source of eternal youth. Continue across the Vika Mountains to Vangsness for the short ferry crossing to the beautiful resort of Balestrand. Dinner and overnight at Kvikne’s Hotel, one of Norway’s finest hotels, superbly located in private grounds on the banks of the fjord, surrounded by mountains.

Day 4

This day is spent relaxing and exploring the delights of the fjords. After breakfast, board the private boat taking you for a day cruise in Sognefjord and Naeroyfjord. Lunch on board, or in one of the restaurants en route. After lunch, visit the village of Flam and discover the Flam Railway – an incredible train journey from Flam station nestled in the innermost corner of Aurlandfjord up to the mountain station at Myrdal on the Bergen Railway. This train journey provides some of Norway’s wildest and most magnificent scenery. On the 20 km-long train ride, you can see rivers that cut through deep ravines, waterfalls cascading down the side of steep, snow-capped mountains, and mountain farms clinging dizzily to sheer slopes. The Flam Railway is one of the world’s steepest railway lines. The twisting tunnels which spirals in and out of the mountain are manifestations of the most daring and skilful engineering in Norwegian railway history. After the train journey, return to the boat and continue your cruise. In the evening you will return to Balestrand. Dinner and overnight at Kvikne’s Hotel.

Day 5

After breakfast, leave Balestrand and will continue your journey in the Kindom of Fjords, passing under the Jostedal Glacier to the village of Skei. Descend into beautiful Nord Fjord, making a detour at Olden to visit the famous Briksdal Glacier. The journey up to the glacier will be made in open cars to give you the best view. Lunch in one of the restaurants en route. During the afternoon the tour continues via Loen and Stryn to the picturesque village of Hellesylt. Here you board the ferry for a 1-hour cruise along the spectacular Geiranger Fjord, possibly the most impressive of all Norwegian fjords. During the cruise you will pass close to some magnificent waterfalls such as the Bridal Veil and Seven Sisters. Dinner and accommodation at the famous Union Hotel, overlooking the Geiranger Fjord.

Day 6

More magnificent scenery today, as your tour crosses first the Grotli Mountains to Lom, then following Lake Vaga, descend the majestic Gudbrands Valley, renowned for its old farmsteads and beautiful river. Arrive in the world-famous town of Lillehammer for lunch. You will have time to visit Olympia Park, before continuing alongside Lake Mjosa, to arrive back in Oslo in the early evening. Accommodation at one of the hotels in the city center. Dinner at Annen Etage Restaurant.

Day 7

Departure day: Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and will take you to Gardemoen airport.
