On our way to the hotel we will stop to enjoy the Blue Lagoon and start your luxury vacation in in Iceland.

Your visit to Iceland starts with a visit to Iceland’s most popular attraction, the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a natural geothermal spa surrounded by lava field and black sandy beaches. Have “the swim of your life” enjoying the comfort of the warm lagoon water. A visit to Blue Lagoon is something you may only experience once in a lifetime. Why not spoil yourself? Choosing the Exclusive lounge offers you privacy, peace and a chance to indulge in the very best Blue Lagoon has to offer.

After this perfect way of losing the jet lag we will continue to the northern most capital in the World, Reykjavik. We only use the best and the most luxurious hotels in Reykjavik and we will head to the hotel you have chosen. Some are small boutique and the other in business class. Where you feel comfortable we will take you to your suite.

Day 2 Luxury Golden Circle

Today you will start your first fully guided day in your luxury vacation Iceland journey. Your personal guide will pick you up at the hotel at the time you and your guide have set the day before. The drive goes into the countryside to Thingvellir, the site of the original Althing, the actual founding place of the oldest democratic parliament in the world established around 930 and continued to convene there until 1798. This area is noted for its spectacular lava formations and being the only place in the world where you can actually see the tectonic plates drift apart.

Thingvellir is a national park and by most people considered to be the most important one.

Walk down the main rift, Almannagja. Research has made it clear that Thingvellir is a natural wonder on an international scale, with the geological history and the bios stem of Lake Thingvallavatn forming a unique entity. The faults and fissures of the area make evident the rifting of the earth’s crust and the ecosystem of Lake Thingvallavatn is a perfect example of species evolution in nature earning Thingvellir a place on the World Heritage list.

Next you will head towards Geysir, where your private guide will walk with you and explore the Geyser area. Geysir is the Icelandic word for Geyser and was adapted to English. So all the Geysers in the world are named after the Icelandic “Geysir” and what a wonderful name it is. After seeing mother earth spouting water and steam up to 90 feet into the air and all the little bubbling Geysers in the area we will continue our journey to Gullfoss.

Next on your vacation agenda is Gullfoss waterfall. Seeing the glacier river Hvita feeding Gullfoss with thundering water makes you think how small we are against nature and what a breathtaking sight.

Now it’s time to drive to Reykjavik. It depends on you if you want to drive straight to Reykjavik or stop at Kerid on the way. As you have a private vehicle you are the decision maker with your guide but we strongly recommend stopping at Kerid. Kerid is a volcanic crater lake approximately 3,000 year old.

After this amazing day we will drop you off at your hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 3 Private South shore

After 2 nights in the city of Reykjavik we pack our suitcases, and keep on with your itinerary that your ground handler has made for you in your luxury vacation tour in Iceland, and head next to the south shore. Here we are going to spend the next day’s exploring glaciers, black sandy beaches, waterfalls and more. Our first stop is Seljalandsfoss waterfall the one you can walk behind.

The drive on the south shore is amazing on one site you will have a North Atlantic Ocean and on the other mountains covered with glaciers and under them volcanoes. The famous Eyjafjallajokull volcano will tower over you when you explore Seljalandsfoss waterfall and when we drive to the next location you will see Myrdalsjokull glacier the fourth largest glacier in Iceland with an area of about 590 km². Before we go on Myrdalsjokull we will check out Skogafoss waterfall one of the biggest waterfall in Iceland with a width of 25 meters and drop of 60 meters.

Your private guide will go over options for you for lunch as we have the luxury to do what we want. After lunch we put on our crampons and walk on Solheimajokull glacier tongue that extends down from its mother glacier, Myrdalsjokull. Ice walking is easy and the ice field is a winter wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses that awaits discovery.

From the Solheimajokull glacier tongue we ahead to the main glacier, Myrdalsjokull to snowmobile.

Enough of snow for the day so now we go down to the beach, forget about the bikini and shorts as we are going to explore black sandy beaches and strange lave formation on Reynisfjara.

Now it’s time to stop for the day and relax at your accommodation in the south and get ready for your luxury super jeep safari tomorrow.

Day 4 Luxury Super jeep Safari into Thorsmork

Rise and shine and have a good breakfast before your adventure. After breakfast we will check the weather and see what we need to bring with us in the super jeep.

Thorsmork is one of the brightest pearls in the string of beautiful areas in Iceland, surrounded by rugged and beautiful mountains, glaciers and glacial rivers, decorated with small birch woods and silver lined with humming brooks. Many have attempted to describe the charm of this area.

Thorsmork, has often been difficult to reach, except by mountain vehicles. There are a multitude of small gullies and valleys, clad with low birch-trees that create seemingly endless possibilities for the nature lover. You will find the more than 170 plants, moss and lichen species in this lush area, which was a fjord some 12,000 years ago. The outlet glaciers tumble and crawl down into the gullies, some of them ending in spectacular glacial lagoons. The glacial melt-off forms rivers that have to be crossed on the way to Thorsmork. Some days the crossing is quite challenging. An innocent stream can change in a matter of hours to a thunderous torrent. Our skilled drivers are very experienced in these driving conditions and will take you safely across any river.

After lunch we will take a light walk into the narrow gorge of Stakkholtsgja. We will talk over rivers and might get a little wet feet but it’s totally worth it when you see the amazing waterfall in the end of the gorge.

After this light walk we start to head to the hotel again but for the adventure traveler we have some aces up our sleeve to make the most out of your luxury journey. Let a helicopter pick you up in Thorsmork and fly over Eyjafjallajokull volcano and look into the crater that shut down Europe for couple of days. Around midnight on a quiet winter night 2010 a rift opened up and hot spouting lava came from the core of the earth. The winter skies where glowing red above Eyjafallajokull glacier reflecting the red glow on the glacier. See the river beds the glacier flooding came down and of course Thorsmork from air.

Day 5 Private Landmannalaugar – Like a visit to the moon

After breakfast at the hotel we will get into our super jeep again and go to Landmannalaugar. Landmannalaugar is situated in the central highlands of Iceland where you will be able to explore the bespoken nature in this Laundmannalaugar unique exotic tour. We pass by Laki volcano before we arrive at the interior route, across lava fields, black ash and scoria deserts. Landmannalaugar is an area of great contrasts with black ridges and colorful mountains of green, red, yellow and orange.

The fresh air with all the untouched nature, rivers, craters, high mountains and massive lava fields give you the feeling of something very special. We recommend you top the day off with a nice hot bath in a natural pool. This pearl of the interior is situated in a valley between colorful mountains at the dark edge of the rhyolite lava field Laugahraun.

After exploring the interior of Iceland it’s time to head back to the civilization in Reykjavik.

Day 6 Leisure day in Reykjavik and departure

Walking around town in Iceland’s capital Reykjavik means coming face-to-face with a huge amount of ever-evolving boutique fashion, design and art stores. You only have to look at the average Icelander and their homes to see their sense of style and the creativity in visual and practical design. People in the design industry often point to the fearless nature of Icelanders fueling a creative boom. Designers from Iceland are beginning to get worldwide recognition.

Visitors and locals alike have dined out on lovely, fresh seafood, often combined with world cuisine to create stunning fusion food.

We take you to the airport to catch your flight back home, leaving you with fond memories of Iceland.

Bless, bless and we hope you have enjoyed your vacation with Luxury Adventures Team.
