Say hello to a bunch of barking huskies that are ready for action (but still very friendly). The dog sledding winter adventure starts with learning how to train and groom dogs. You will get detailed instructions on how to drive a dog sledding team. Then you drive the dog sled into the white, winter landscapes, through the beautiful valley of Vass, a total distance of 16 km. The area is totally uninhabited, and the speed of the dogs will impress you.

Lunch served in Saami camp.

After lunch you will drive towards Lyngen Lodge, dinner and evening hot tubs are ready for you.

Day 3

Breakfast at the lodge.

The snowmobile safari winter adventure goes through the picturesque valleys and lakes, a distance of 15 km one way. At the lake you can try out ice fishing. A thorough safety introduction will take place ahead of starting up. Due to the dramatic topography reduced speed is held during parts of the tour. On flat land and frozen lakes you can speed up. A hot meal will be served during the adventure, and there will be opportunities for ice-fishing if permitted by time and weather conditions.

Lunch will be served in the camp. After a rest by the open fire in the tent, you will participate in a Sami experience. Reindeer sledding is the oldest form of transport in the north, and an ancient part of Sami culture. Also in the sledge you will be driving in pairs, with one reindeer in front of each sledge.

The trip is approximately 3 km long. The adventure includes trying out lasso-throwing, visiting a Sami family Lavvo, and learning about Sami culture and history with an introduction to traditional Sami handicraft. The night you spend sleeping by the open fire in the Sami tent, or in the wood stove heated cabin if you prefer. In the evening – return to the lodge, dinner and overnight.

Day 4

Breakfast at the lodge.

Today you will head up for the real thing – the winter fjord fishing adventure will give you the opportunity to join a genuine fjord fisherman in his fishing boat on an arctic fjord. You will see different kinds of fish species, and learn how they are caught and preserved for delivery.

The fjord is surrounded by thousand meter high mountains, the Lyngen Alps, falling vertically in to the deep arctic water that holds these great fish resources. The spectacular surroundings also give you a chance to spot sea eagles or other Arctic Ocean birds. Do not forget to bring your camera!

In the evening – return to Tromso, overnight at your accommodation in Tromso.
