Helsinki and Stockholm

Day 1

Arrival in Helsinki. Your guide will meet you at the airport and will take you to Hotel Kamp, located in the heart of the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast your guide will meet you at the lobby and will take you to 3 hour tour of the Finish capital. The tour takes in the most important and interesting parts of Helsinki and will acquaint you with the historical center and Senate Square, the diplomatic quarters, the Presidential Palace, City Hall and the Parliament building. You will stop at the Sibelius Monument and at the Temppeliaukio Church. Lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch, your guide will take you to the Silja Line Terminal and help you check in to the ferry. Silja Line offers you the opportunity to explore the beautiful King’s Road (between Finland and Sweden), the ancient highway which linked the western and the eastern domains of the Kingdom of Sweden centuries ago. Dinner on the ship, spending the night in an on-board cabin.

Day 3

Arrive in Stockholm the next morning. Your guide will meet you upon arrival and take you to Grand Hotel Stockholm, located in the center of the city, just in front of the Royal Palace. In the afternoon your guide will take you for a 3-hour tour of Stockholm. Discover a city like no other – a city built on 14 islands, where you are never far from the water. Well-preserved medieval buildings stand alongside modern architecture. Stockholm is also home of the Nobel Prize. And just outside the city, an archipelago of 24, 000 islands is waiting to be explored. You can visit Stockholm’s famous City Hall, promenade in Gamla Stan (Old Town), and visit the museums of the Royal Palace and Vasa museum. Dinner at the gourmet restaurant Bon LIoc.

Day 4

In the morning your guide will take you to the Skansen open-air museum – one of Stockholm’s most popular tourist attractions with some 150 houses and farmsteads from all over Sweden. Here you can find a zoo, “Mini-Skansen”, summer concerts, traditional festivals, theme days and a Christmas Fair, depending on the season. Lunch in one of the city restaurants. In the afternoon, take an unforgettable cruise in the archipelago of Stockholm, which stretches eastward from the Swedish capital for about 40 miles into the Baltic Sea, and extends about twice that distance north to south. Many of the islands that you will pass are dotted with summer cottages, many having hotels and restaurants. Return to Stockholm in the evening; overnight at Grand Hotel. Dinner at Franska Matsalen.

Day 5

A day tour in Stockholm’s countryside. Visit the well known destination of Sigtuna – Sweden’s first town. This little place has it all – history, beauty and exciting tales to tell. A guide will bring you on an historical journey, taking you through themes of history, famous writers, tales of the many runic stones or the history of the churches. Lunch at one of the restaurants in Sigtuna. After lunch, visit the Steininge Palace – “Sweden’s most beautiful Baroque building”, the pièce de résistance of Nicodemus Tessin, architect and designer of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Steninge Palace was built in 1705, and includes exquisite buildings surrounded by a Baroque garden. This historical environment forms the basis of a cultural center designed to keep Swedish and other Nordic crafts and traditions alive. Return to Stockholm in the evening, with dinner at Den Gyldene Freden.

Day 6

Departure day: your guide will drive you to Arlanda airport. Departure to your home destination.
